Auntie Anne's Pretzels founder talks at Profits For Passion; event recognizes Kutztown area small businesses

Anne Beiler

Anne Beiler, founder of the well-known Auntie Anne’s Pretzels, will share her experience as a small business owner and reveal how she turned her dream into a reality at the second annual Profits for Passion Awards Ceremony 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 7 at the Crowne Plaza in Wyomissing.

Beiler started Auntie Anne’s Pretzels with a $6,000 loan and a single farmer’s market stand in 1987 to support her husband Jonas’ vision of opening a free family counseling center in their community and turned the business into the largest hand rolled soft pretzel franchise in the world.

After more than 15 years in business, Beiler sold Auntie Anne’s, Inc. in 2005. Her passion and persistence led her to become one of the most well-known female entrepreneurs and one of the most sought after public speakers in the country.

Beiler, a well-known philanthropist, is a perfect fit for the Profits for Passion Award Ceremony, which recognizes small business owners who have made a philanthropic impact on nonprofit organizations in Berks County and around the world. The organization is hoping she inspires the audience to give even more back to the Berks Community.

Last year, Profits for Passion received 38 nominations for small-business owners who made a philanthropic impact on nonprofit organizations in Berks County and around the world. More than 275 people attended the awards ceremony and this year attendance is expected to double!

Merra Lee Moffitt, project founder, says, “With a little more than a month to go, we have already received more than twenty nominations and are thrilled about having Anne Beiler as the keynote speaker. Her speaking will emphasize the honor and thanks to these entrepreneurs in our community.”

Profiles of all nominees can be found on the Profits for Passion website: www.profitsforpassion.com. Tickets for the award banquet are also available at the site. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 7 at the Crowne Plaza in Wyomissing. The community is invited to join Profits for Passion in honoring nominees, winners and Anne Beiler. Table sponsorships are also available. The Platinum Sponsor for the event is Good Life Financial Group.
