Fischer and Salezze obtain AIF designation

Northeast Berks Chamber of Commerce member Mike Fischer, CLU, ChFC, CASL, AIF, President and CEO, and Nicholas R. Salezze, CRPS, AIF, Associate Advisor and Head of the Retirement Plans Department at Client 1st Financial LLC, have both received their Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) designation.

With an AIF® designation, Fisher and Salezze will engage in fee-based consulting which will allow them to take co-fiduciary responsibility for the operation of a retirement plan and assist the plan sponsor in determining what is best for the plan and the plan participant. Instead of working on commission, they will engage in a fee based service entailing investment selection, IPS assistance and plan monitoring among other responsibilities.

Having the designation is significant since investment fiduciaries stand in a special relationship of trust, confidence, and legal responsibility to the client they are held to an exemplary standard of care as defined by applicable laws and best practices. Understanding these responsibilities can mitigate compliance risk, improve efficiency and effectiveness, and distinguish a practitioner’s reputation as a fiduciary specialist. An AIF® designation tells the world that the practitioner is knowledgeable and compliant in his or her fiduciary responsibilities.

Asked what the designation means personally, Salezze explained, “This is the logical next step for us to be able to provide a wider array of services to retirement plan sponsors. With this designation Mike and I can better align our services and support in helping employers meet their fiduciary responsibilities.”
