This new YMCA will provide programs and services that will offer moreopportunities for youth, adults and families in the local community.
On Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013 at 10 a.m., the PhiladelphiaFreedom Valley YMCA will officially kick-off construction of the new YMCA in the Pennsburgcommunity. This event will take place at Kistler-Bitting Park, located at 1352 Tagart Road in EastGreenville, PA 18041.
More than one hundred community members will join Bob Mensch, State Senator of the 24thDistrict, Marcy Toepel, State Representative and other prominent local officials in kicking-offconstruction of the new Upper Perkiomen Valley YMCA to the community.
Student performers from Upper Perkiomen Middle School and Upper Perkiomen High School willjoin Y members, donors, volunteers in the celebration. The new YMCA in the Upper HanoverTownship will serve approximately 20,000 people nearly 5,000 households; it will create 200 newjobs, increase spending within the Township and improve overall quality life for everyone.
The new Upper Perkiomen Valley YMCA which will replace the current facility, located at 476Pottstown Avenue in Pennsburg, PA, will feature a 2-story atrium style grand lobby, 3 poolsdesigned for different ages and abilities, a sauna and whirlpool, a Wellness Center equipped withcardiovascular conditioning and strength training equipment, four Group Exercise Studios andmuch more.
