The Fleetwood and Kutztown High School football teams will be starting a new tradition this year. Many of the schools in the county have rivalry games where a traveling trophy is presented to the winning team. On November first, the game between these two teams will have a trophy of its own that will be presented to the winning team right after the game. It will be called the Hall of Fame Trophy and will be presented by Fleetwood’s Athletic Director, Matt Diehl, and Kutztown’s Athletic Director, Mick O’Neil.

‘When the idea was presented to me, I thought it would be good for both of our football programs. We have been rivals for years in other sports and this will just make this football game even more special,’ explained Diehl.

‘I liked the idea from the start,’ saidO’Neil. ‘It’s the last game on our schedule each year and this Hall of Fame Game concept will make it more meaningful.’

This year the game will be played at 7 p.m. on the Kutztown University field and both athletic directors invite everyone to come and be a part of this new football tradition.
