In the United States, families celebrate Thanksgiving on the 4th Thursday in November each year. Sadly, many local families struggle to meet their basic needs, so a Thanksgiving feast is out of the question. Over the last five years, Boyertown Area Multi-Service has helped an average of 160 families each year (up from 125 the previous 5 years) to enjoy a complete Thanksgiving dinner which they can cook at home.

We depend on the community to support us by providing the following items:

turkeys or turkey breasts potatoes (fresh or instant)

sweet potatoes (fresh or canned)

stuffing gravy cranberry sauce

vegetables bread/rolls/muffin mixes

pie filling and pie crust (or pie crust mix)

Any extras you wish to add would be welcome, too.

All items can be dropped off between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, beginning Nov. 1.

Due to both time and space limitations, we request that donations arrive in the first half of the month (by Nov. 15), so we can begin assembling the meals and contacting the recipients to pick them up. However, if you need to make other arrangements or if you or your organization plan to donate a large amount of food, please call Nancy at (610) 367-6957.

Whether you choose to contribute a single turkey, other ingredients, a complete meal, or 25 complete meals, please understand that without YOU, struggling families would be unable to sit down and enjoy this traditional holiday feast. We can all be grateful for the kind and caring community in which we live.
