Kutztown to Allentown Macaroni Kid hosts Haiku & Picture Contest. Macaroni Kid challenges kids and parents to create a spring or summer haiku with a related picture in any medium, photographed for submission when haiku submitted. Poet may be included in photograph; however art work must be clearly visible. Submissions judged on overall creativity and artistry according to age groups: elementary age (5-11), middle – high school (12 – 18) and parents to win prizes. Road Rally. Zion Union Church Maxatawny, 329 Church Road, Kutztown, Adult Fellowship Group is holding annual Road Rally open to all licensed drivers. Packets including directions provided, plus a sheet of questions to challenge observational skills. A driver and navigator needed, but may have as many in car as wish. Course is about 30 miles long, takes about two hours. Cars lined up at 12:30 p.m. and depart at 1 p.m. Minimal registration fee per car.
