This letter is in response to the Oct. 29 article, ‘Avoiding taxes, guiding development are focus of Elverson election.’

To the editor: Wow, this is a train wreck. Just because people are on fixed income doesn’t mean they should be free of property taxes. This is just a way for Stolzfus to make money.

It’s sad when you need volunteers to maintain your ball fields but have money to spend on Elverson Days. Just keep building houses and destroying open space to line your own pockets. Just change the name to tax-free Stolzfusville.

Oh, by the way, Comcast serves all the way up Rt. 82, right to the edge of the borough.

Harry Morant Elverson Editor’s note: In the Nov. 5 election, Republican incumbents Esther Prosser and Merle Stoltzfus won reelection and Republican newcomers Robert French and Dwight Frizen edged out Democratic opponent Tim McEwen for the remaining two seats.
