Corner House Farm Riding School places first in international league

Friday, July 26, 2013

Corner House Farm Riding School, 95 Morlatton Rd., Douglassville, has competed against riding schools from all over the world, and won, without ever leaving the comfort of Pennsylvania.
“ students have been participating in this league for just over three years and we have won the league each of those years,” said Louise Jordan-Beam, British Horse Society registered Assistant Instructor, (BHSAI).
The riding school’s students and horses have been competing on an internet site,, against 22 other riding schools.
On July 1, Corner House Farm Riding School handed out medals to the horse riders who helped the school win the Riding School of the Year.
Other participating riding schools are from Canada, UK, South Africa, Ireland and Germany. The site, based in England, holds monthly dressage, jumping and showing classes. Videos are uploaded to YouTube by the participating schools, judged by registered judges and returned to the students on how to improve their riding.
Most of the riders at Corner House Farm take one lesson a week, and ride the school’s horses.
“Competition has been tight some of those years and the students have buckled down to keep us in the lead,” said Jordan-Beam,“The wins are even more remarkable because the students ride once a week and we only use four horses and ponies.”
The Riding School League runs from May to April each year. Each rider earns points for their school depending on how they place in their individual classes on a monthly basis. These are then added up to work out the league winners.
Videos of the riding can be seen on Corner House Farms Facebook page and other results can be seen
