SUV strikes fence, goes down embankment in Richmond Township

A driver lost control of her SUV, struck a fence and went down an embankment on Feb. 4.

Fleetwood Police report that Cristin Arredondo-Perez, 23, Reading, was driving a 2005 silver Nissan Murano SUV east on Fleetwood/Lyons Road in the area of Stump Road in Richmond Township when she lost control of her vehicle due to the snow covered roadway. The vehicle went across the opposing lane, struck a fence and traveled down an embankment.

According to police, the driver initially claimed she was not injured but later had a complaint of general pain. Life Lion EMS transported her to Reading Hospital for evaluation.

Schadler’s Towing removed the vehicle from the embankment and towed it from the scene.


The road was closed for about 10 minutes while the vehilce was removed.

Police report that the incident is still under investigation.
