Fleetwood Vol. Fire Co.
Oct. 11: Fleetwood was dispatched to assist companies 32 and 33 with a single motor vehicle accident reported with heavy entrapment on Route 662 near Route 143 in Richmond at around 2 a.m. There was one fatality at the scene. Later that morning around 8:45 a.m., Fleetwood was dispatched to assist companies 12 and 32 with another motor vehicle accident, a reported vehicle that drove into a store front at Park Road and Golden Drive in Maidencreek Twp. One person was freed from the wreckage and transported to the hospital.

Regional Police
The Berks-Lehigh Regional Police responded to 20 accidents, two animal cases, 27 alarms, 22 EMS calls and six fire calls during the week of Oct. 5 through the 11th.
During the same week, the department was issued was given 201 assignments, assisted 34 people, issued one parking citation and issued 65 traffic citations.
Oct. 5: Harassment was reported on Spruce Street in Topton.
Oct. 6: A domestic disturbance was reported on Kutztown Road in Maxatawny Township.
Oct. 7: Criminal mischief to a vehicle was reported on Centre Avenue in Topton.
Oct. 8: Theft of property was reported on Long Lane Road in Maxatawny Township.
Oct. 8: Theft of property was reported on Kutztown Road in Maxatawny Township.
Oct. 8: Theft of property was reported on Old Bowers Road in Maxatawny Township.
Oct. 10: Harassment by communication was reported on Kemp Street in Lyons.
Oct. 10: A fight was reported on Weis Street in Topton.
Oct. 11: An assault was reported in Maxatawny Township on Apex Avenue.
Oct. 11: Disorderly conduct was reported in the Topton Borough on Haas Street.
Oct. 11: A vehicle was reported stolen on Franklin Street in Topton.
Kutztown Borough Police
Sept. 9: Police cited Maurine E. Callmann, 53, of Kutztown, for disorderly conduct following an incident that occurred at the Kutztown Area High School, 50 Trexler Ave.
Sept. 12: Police arrested Christopher A. Roth, 29, of Kempton, for Driving under the influence of alcohol or controlled substance, careless driving, stop sign violation and restriction on alcoholic beverages following an incident that occurred at the intersection of Willow St. and Normal Ave.
Oct. 2: Police arrested Stephen M. DeCola, 21, of Fleetwood, for disorderly conduct following an incident that occurred at Shorty’s Bar, 272 W. Main St.
Police filed a summons against Timothy R. Miller, 23, of Orefield, for public drunkenness following an incident that occurred at the Sovereign Bank, 61 Constitution Blvd.
Police cited Zachary T. Signora, 19, of Ridley Park, for public drunkenness following an incident that occurred in the 100 block of Noble St.
Police investigated the report of a fight following an incident that occurred at Shorty’s Bar, 272 W. Main St.
Police investigated the report of harassment following an incident that occurred at the Kutztown Area Middle School, 10 Deisher Ln.
Police investigated the report of vandalism to a window after it was reported broken at a residence in the 00 block of Greenwich St.
Oct. 3: Police cited Zachary M. Franks, 20, of Blandon, for purchase, consumption, possession or transportation of liquor or malt or brewed beverages and disorderly conduct following an incident that occurred in the 300 block of W. Main St.
Police cited Christine A. Salgueiro, 19, of Lake Ariel, Pa., for violation of the Borough Noise Ordinance following an incident that occurred at 244 W. Main St. A Disruptive Conduct Report was also issued.
Police cited Charles C. Messler, 21, of Waverly, Pa., for violation of the Borough Noise Ordinance following an incident that occurred at 417 W. Walnut St. A Disruptive Conduct Report was also issued.
Police investigated the report of vandalism to vehicles after it was reported that three vehicles had their tires slashed while parked in a parking lot in the 100 block of W. Main Street.
Police are investigating the report of graffiti vandalism to the front steps and rear wall of Clare’s Closet, 56 Noble St., to the side of a building located in the 300 block of Sander Alley, to the side of a building and a side door of the same building in the 00 block of Apple Alley, to a garage located in the 00 block of S. Baldy Street, to a stop sign at the intersection of Sander Alley and S. Baldy Street, to a telephone pole in the 400 block of W. Main Street, to the side wall of DeTurk’s Hardware, 326 W. Main St., to a wall at Dollar Tree, 45 Constitution Blvd., to a wall of a residence in the 00 block of S. Whiteoak Street, to the side of a building located in the 00 block of S. Whiteoak Street and to a trailer on the property of Kutztown Bottling Works, 78 S. Whiteoak St.
Police investigated the report of vandalism to a vehicle after it was reported to have had the driver’s side mirror ripped off while the vehicle was parked in a parking lot in the 200 block of College Blvd.
Oct. 4: Police are investigating the report of an assault following an incident that occurred at a residence in the 100 block of W. Main St.
Police cited Mallory J. Abel, 21, of Lehighton, for violation of the Borough Noise Ordinance following an incident that occurred at 225 W. Main St. A Disruptive Conduct Report was also issued.
Police cited Jonathan D. Balfour, 19, of Wayne, Pa., for violation of the Borough Noise Ordinance following an incident that occurred at 223 W. Main St. A Disruptive Conduct Report was also issued.
Police investigated the report of vandalism to a mail box after it was reported to have been damaged by being knocked off a wooden post at a residence in the 200 block of S. Baldy Street.
Police investigated the report of vandalism to a vehicle after it was reported that the windshield was smashed while the vehicle was parked at a residence in the 00 block of S. Baldy Street.
Oct. 5: Police investigated the report of vandalism to a sign after it was reported to have been broken at the Kutztown Garden Apartments, 139 Normal Ave.
Oct. 6: Police investigated the report of vandalism to a vehicle after it was reported that the left rear taillight was broken while the vehicle was parked in a parking lot in the 300 block of W. Main St.
Oct. 7: Police investigated the report of vandalism to a stop sign after it was reported to have numerous scratches on the face of the sign located at the intersection of Baldy and Main streets.
Oct. 18: Police investigated the report of graffiti vandalism to a stop sign located at the intersection of Luella Dr. and Elm St.
Fleetwood Borough
Police Department
Fleetwood police responded to 126 service calls, two accidents, one alarm and issued 10 traffic and parking violations during the week of Oct. 4 through 10.
Oct. 5: Items were reported stolen from a vehicle parked at Richmaiden Golf Course.
Oct. 6: Richmond Township officials reported damage to several signs throughout the township.
Oct. 8: A stolen vehicle was recovered along Route 222 near Schuler Road where it was parked. The vehicle was stolen from Wind Gap, Pa.
Oct. 10: A 35-year-old male was arrested for driving under the influence after a traffic stop at Main and Franklin Street.
Oct. 10: A 54-year-old female is to be charged with assaulting a police officer and a medical responder on the 100 block of S. Chestnut St. The female had intentially over dosed on medication and was fighting with police and medical personnel. A police officer suffered a shoulder injury and a medical person suffered a broken thumb. The female was committed to the hospital with charges pending.
Pennsylvania
State Police
Pennsylvania State Police in Hamburg responded to an accident on Interstate 78, 312 feet west of Old Route 22 in Greenwich Township at 6:24 p.m. on Sept. 23 when Everett Lee, 38, of Anniston, Ala. was stopped in the right lane of I-78 westbound in backlogged traffic.
Sukhwinder Singh, 41, of East Greenbush, N.Y., was traveling westbound in the right lane approaching the rear of Lee’s 2009 Peterbilt truck. Singh observed Lee’s truck was stopped and activated the brakes to his 2004 Kenworth T2000 truck attempting to stop, but was unsuccessful.
The front of Singh’s truck struck Lee’s trailer. Upon impact, Singh’s truck came to an abrupt stop facing west in the right lane and Lee’s truck remained stopped facing west in the right lane.
Virginville Fire Company responded for fluid on the roadway.
Two summary violations of driving vehicle at safe speed and inspections will be filed against Singh through District Court 23-3-06 of Hamburg.
