Boyertown Area School District had 10 more cases of Swine Flu since its earlier report this month.
According to the district’s Web site, www.boyertownasd.org, there were six cases at the elementary level and five cases at the secondary level.
All students with Swine Flu are back at school and are required to have clearance from their family physician.
“Our schools have experienced a high rate of student absences during the past two weeks,” according to the Web site. “While this is not attributed to the H1N1 virus, we will continue to work closely with the parents/guardians of children who are ill.”
The school district is still monitoring student enrollment and encouraging hand washing at schools.
hese increased cases of Swine Flu have come around the same time President Obama has issued a state of emergency which allows doctors and other health care providers to give treatment faster and attempt to slow down on the spread of the virus.
According to Oley Valley School District’s Web site, www2.oleysd.k12.pa.us, there have been two confirmed cases of Swine Flu as of Oct. 7.
Both of the students who have the virus were staying at home to get better.
Attendance records on Oct. 7 showed the following records: 90.2 percent at the elementary school; 92.45 percent at the middle school and 92.14 percent at the high school.
