Students at Rupert Elementary School showed their support for the “Say No to Drugs Campaign.” Red Ribbon Week is the nation’s oldest and largest drug prevention program reaching millions of young people. Students at Rupert Elementary School took part in a week long awareness program which included presentations regarding healthy lifestyles from Youth and Family Services.
The week began with an assembly where students received red ribbons which they wore throughout the week. To highlight the week through fun activities, one day students participated in the “Sock It To Drugs” day where students could wear the craziest socks they could find. Another day was highlighted by “Put a Cap on Drugs.” During the day, students were allowed to wear the craziest hats they could find. On “Drug Free With Style” day, students could wear red accessories added to their school uniform. Throughout the week, teachers were encouraged to incorporate healthy lifestyle and drug free messages in their curriculum. The final event of the week was the naming of student winners of the poster drawing contest.
Winners included: Nathan Scavello, Talee Dupiche, Asya Becker, William Minnick and Aaroc Daroci.
