NGOING EVENTS:

USED BOOK SALE

The Labyrinth Used Books and Gifts, First United Methodist Church, 414 High St, Pottstown.  There is a wonderful selection of secular and religious books available for bargain prices at the Labyrinth.  Many popular authors are available.  There are also self help, reference and travel books, cookbooks, and children’s books.   Small gift items are also available at a low price.  Hours of operation are Friday, noon to 4 p.m. and Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  The first Saturday of each month, we sell a bag of books for $5 plus tax and we provide the bag!

FREE BEAD NIGHTS AND JEWELRY MAKING CLASS

Being offered year round at Buttercup Beads! Free community Bead Soiree nights twice a month, from 6 to 8 p.m.  Huge variety of jewelry making classes also available for novice and/or experienced beaders. MOMS CLUB OF NEW HANOVER TOWNSHIP

The MOMS Club of New Hanover Township is a group of “Moms Offering Moms Support” for mothers at home (at least part time) raising their children.  We hold monthly business meeting on the second Friday of each month at 10 a.m.  Our meetings are held at a local church. Visitors including moms and their children are always welcome . Wouldn’t it be nice to meet once a month for a potluck lunch or dinner?  Maybe rotate at one another’s homes or meet as a group at restaurants that serve veg fare? Each month PRO-ACT hosts a Family Program to help individuals and family recognize and address an addiction problem in a loved one. The programs begin on the first Wednesday of each month and run for three consecutive Wednesday evenings, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sessions meet at Creative Health, 11 Robinson Street, Pottstown. Sessions are free and confidential: first names

FEBRUARY EVENTS:

WINTER CHORAL FESTIVAL

The Hill School’s annual Winter Choral Festival will be held on Friday, February 12, at 7:15 p.m. in the theatre of The Hill School Center For The Arts (CFTA). The festival, which is scheduled to run approximately two hours, is free of charge and open to the public. It will feature songs performed by The Hill School’s Chorus, Glee Club, and the select a cappella groups Hilltones (all male) and Hilltrebles (all female). The program, titled “Folk Music:  Near and Far,” is in celebration of The Hill’s 2009-10 academic theme “A Common Humanity.”  The music performed will represent Ireland, Scotland, Korea, Venezuela, America, as well as many other countries.  For more information on the Winter Music Festival, please contact The Hill School Center For The Arts box office at 610-326-1000, extension 6540, or e-mail bmerriam@thehill.org.

ART SHOW AND SALE

ASH WEDNESDAY CELEBRATION

REJOICING SPIRITS

JAMMIN' IN B-TOWN

Sunday, February 21, at the Keystone Fire Company, Walnut and  Spring Streets, Boyertown, from 1 pm to 4 pm.  Any musicians that would like to play, come out and join the fun.  Public Invited - Come and enjoy country music and a  variety of old time favorites.  Doors open at noon.  Admission by donation.  Food available by Keystone Fire Company and baked goods by Lions Club.  Donations received will benefit the Boyertown Lions Club projects.

BASKET BINGO

The Woman’s Club of Birdsboro is hosting their 11th Annual Basket Bingo on Sunday, February 21, at 1 p.m.  Doors open at noon at the Birdsboro Community Memorial Center, Main and Mill Streets in Birdsboro.  There will be 25 games, specials, raffles and door prizes galore. SPRING BASKET PARTY FUNDRAISER

Gilbertsville Elementary School will host its 14th annual Spring Basket Party fundraiser on Friday March 26, in the school gymnasium. Hundreds of themed baskets, door prizes and  outstanding grand prizes will be raffled throughout the evening.  Advanced tickets for this sell-out event are strongly encouraged and may be purchased at Gilbertsville Elementary School at 36 Congo Road or by calling 610-705-5897.  Guests who purchase a ticket receive 25 basket chances, door prize chances, complimentary coffee, tea, and dessert.
