Grammys broadcast flubs Cory Monteith tribute

The Grammys on Sunday spelled Cory Monteith’s name wrong during its tribute to entertainment figures who passed away in 2013.

Remember, kids, it’s I before E except after C. Except when it’s E before I and you have a bad spell-checking guy.

Thanks — I thought that one up all by myself.

When the tribute rolled, the former “Glee” star’s name was spelled “Montieth.” Which means someone over there at Grammy Central can’t get their third grade teacher’s singsong voice out of their head.

Please, God, don’t let me spell anything wrong in this item

Monteith died in July at age 31 after a drug and alcohol binge.

On Sunday, immediately after the mistake was shown, the Internet exploded, according to Us Weekly.

One fan tweeted: “Dear Recording Academy, it’s 2014 & no one has spell check? His name is Cory MONTEITH!!! Fire the fact check clerk!”

Another wrote: “GREAT JOB SPELLING CORY’S NAME WRONG IN HIS TRIBUTE LAST NIGHT. #youshouldbeashamed”

Come on, how about a little forgiveness for a little mistake? It’s not like they wrote his tribute in all caps
