The Boyertown Area Choral Association will conclude its 24th season with a free spring concert on Sunday, May 4 at The Good Shepherd United Church of Christ, located at 35 W. Philadelphia Avenue in Boyertown. The concert will be held at 3 p.m.

Directed by Boyertown alumni Donna M. House and Donna Jean Marshall, the community chorus will offer a pleasing mix of musical selections. Traditional favorites such as the timeless hymn ‘Then Sings My Soul (How Great Thou Art)’ will be performed, as well as more contemporary numbers like ‘For Good,’ the tender ballad from the hit Broadway musical Wicked. The uplifting text of ‘How Can I Keep from Singing’ and the driving energy of ‘Put a Little Love in Your Heart (with Love Train)’ are nicely balanced by the hauntingly inspirational ‘Pure Imagination’ which was originally performed by Gene Wilder in the popular Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Of special significance to the choir is ‘The Majesty and Glory of Your Name,’ a stirring piece that seamlessly flows from hushed tones to a bold and majestic sound.

The concert is free and open to the public. A cookie reception will follow the performance.
