Who would be crazy enough to perform Hamlet in only 43 seconds? Backwards? The cast of The Complete Works Of William Shakespeare (abridged) [revised], that’s who! Using various props and costume pieces, and performed by only three actors, Complete Works, as it is fondly known, condenses all of Shakespeare’s thirty-seven plays into two hours of zany comedy, pop culture references, improvisation, and unexpected consequences.

Complete Works, conceived and written by Adam Long, Daniel Singer, and Jess Winfield, was originally performed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 1987 and later played at the Criterion Theatre in London, where it ran for nine years. It has become one of the world’s most popular shows, playing frequently in a variety of languages. Complete Works is a show for Shakespeare buffs, Shakespeare haters, and Shakespeare novices alike!

Steel River’s upcoming production is directed by Philadelphia-based writer, director, performer, and instructor Jack Tamburri and stage managed by Kim Paczkowski. The cast is comprised of local actors Joseph Cataldo, Maria Jarrell, and Philip Seaeder.

The Complete Works Of William Shakespeare (abridged) [revised] runs Fridays through Sundays for just two weekends-May 9, 10, 16, and 17 at 8 p.m. and May 11 and 18 at 3 p.m. Find ticket information at www.steelriver.org or by contacting boxoffice@steelriver.org or 610-970-1199.
