Boyertown high school to host first annual Arts Night, public invited to opening presentation

The first annual Arts Night event is scheduled for Boyertown Area High School Students.

Boyertown Area Senior High Art Department will be hosting a fund raising event, called Arts Night, on Friday, May 9, in the Art Department wing of the Boyertown Area Senior High School.

The night’s events will officially begin with a presentation at Studio B, located at 39A East Philadelphia Avenue, Boyertown, at 7 p.m. This portion of the event is open to the public.

After the presentation, students will return to the high school to begin the studio portion of the evening. During the studio sessions, teachers and students will begin art making, including ceramics, drawing, weaving, painting, animation, and computer graphics. Many of the art works created during the evening will be auctioned at the Arts Expo. The Arts Night event is only open to students and is not open to the public.

High school art teachers, Thomas Dareneau and Domenic Frunzi, will be organizing and supervising the event throughout the night. Students will meet the teachers at the high school in the Arts wing at 6 p.m.

Funds raised from the events will benefit Arts Expo and Arts Expo scholarships. Arts Expo is an annual art show occurring every spring for the last 20 years that features the work of student artists enrolled at the Boyertown Area Senior High School. The Arts Expo event is open to the community. This year’s Arts Expo will be held on Wednesday, May 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the historic portion of the Boyertown Senior High School.

Dinner, breakfast, and snacks will be provided for students. Participating students had to pre-register. The Arts Night event will end at 6 a.m. Saturday, May 10.
