This coming Saturday evening, July 19 the Optimist Club of Kutztown will host their annual Community Appreciation Day at the Kutztown Fairgrounds from 5 to 8 p.m.
The Optimist Club has been hosting this annual event to show their appreciation to the community for all their support throughout the year. The Community Appreciation Day will feature reduced prices on food and drinks, as well as games for the youth. In conjunction with the Optimist Club of Kutztown and their Community Appreciation Day, the Borough of Kutztown in conjunction with the Kutztown Optimist Club will be hosting the The Happy Dutchmen German Band, as part of this year’s Borough of Kutztown’s ‘2014 Concert Series’. They perform from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. on the Main Stage at the Kutztown Fairgrounds.
The band, under the direction of Bruce Rohrbach, has been performing locally for over 40 years, to promote the music of Germany/Bavaria. The band will entertain the crowd in authentic German period dress complete with Lederhosen and Alpine hats, while they entertain with various types of music from the standard German marches, to your favorite polka’s, waltzes, and various other German dances. There will be several audience participation songs and sing-a-long songs.
The concert is free to the public and is part of the Borough of Kutztown ‘2014 Concert Series in the Park’, and will be held rain or shine in the covered Kutztown Park Bandshell.
