Dancing Tree Creations Artisans Gallery and Studio has won the KYW Newsradio 2014 Small Business Challenge marketing campaign worth $25,000.
During the month of June, business owners entered to win a marketing campaign on KYW Newsradio and cbsphilly.com.
Five finalists were selected the week of June 22nd to have their business profiled on KYW Newsradio. Finalists and the winner were selected by a panel of business leaders chosen by the station management based on the following judging criteria: businesses must be up and running and post-revenue; businesses must be less than five (5) years old from the date of obtaining a business license which should be provided upon winning the prize; total revenue must be less than $5 million annually; and submit summarized business plans from local, private companies looking to grow.
The business plan must also demonstrate the company’s commitment to generate revenue within the Delaware Valley. Finally, the submission should include an explanation of how and why this company would benefit from winning the $25,000 advertising campaign on KYW Newsradio 1060 and CBSPhilly.com. Dancing Tree Creations Artisans Gallery and Studio was announced as the winner at the end of July.
Upon notification of their winning, Lyn Camella, Co-Founder, stated, ‘We are thrilled and excited to have been selected. With the assistance of KYW Newsradio and CBSPhilly.com we hope to expand our reach and have an opportunity to expose a wider audience to the creativity of the artists we represent, to appreciate the quality and value of that which is hand-crafted, and to help grow our local economy by showcasing all that is available in our community of Boyertown.’
Dancing Tree Creations Artisans Gallery and Studio was opened in October, 2010 by artists/co-owners Lyn Camella and Beth Rich, who took early retirement in 2007, leaving their hectic corporate lives in search of a quieter, more sustainable lifestyle. Their journey began by repurposing a quaint 1890’s Country Store into a contemporary Artisans Gallery, Studio and Garden Arts Center that now represents over 200 local and national artisans. In 2013, Deb Overley joined the duo as another artist/co-owner whose wares are also offered for sale in the gallery.
‘Our goal is to bring one-of-a-kind, hand-crafted art to our customers to inspire a creative and artful lifestyle,’ the trio states. The gallery promotes art and fine craft for you, your home, office and garden with an eclectic array of hand-crafted works by talented North American Artisans. Having met all but six of the artists they represent allows them to convey a better understanding of how the items were made and who created the works being purchased. ‘We believe this knowledge helps create a connection, a special feeling, every time the piece is viewed, worn, or used. It is this unique connection that is lost in today’s atmosphere of mass production, a connection we want to help revive,’ states Camella.
Visits, to learn about the art and artists or to get inspired by all the creativity showcased, are encouraged. They continually look for unique items that will keep people coming to visit the gallery ‘when common just won’t do!’
