The Society of American Magicians Association 92 and the International Brotherhood of Magicians Ring 57 will hold the 39th Annual Kutztown Magic Convention at Kutztown Middle School Nov. 8.

From 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. a Magic Convention is held for Magicians where lectures are held, vendors sell Magic items, an auction takes place, etc. But in the evening we hold our grand evening show that is open to the public.

All of our magicians at this year’s conventions have won multiple awards in the realm of magic and have appeared throughout the world and made numerous TV appearances. See sleight-of-hand, illusions, comedy magic, mental mysteries, manipulation and more. The show is also completely “Family Friendly”.

Kevin James: Kevin remembers seeing his first magic performance at age 10. He decided early on that performing magic for the world was going to be his life’s calling. His unique comedy and magic has gained him a reputation as a world class visual artist. He has performed on television in 25 countries and in the U.S. on all major TV networks and many cable channels. Past performances include a Royal Command Performance for the Prince of Monaco, headlining in Jeff Kutash’s Splash at the Riveria in Las Vegas, Caesar’s Palace, Tropicana and Bally’s just to name a few. He will be a featured performer in The Illusionists opening on Broadway Nov. 26.

Michael Ammar Raised in the small city of Logan, WV, Ammar is the youngest of four children. Michael was drawn to magic when he saw an ad on the back of a comic book, “250 Tricks for 25 cents.” He sent for the order catalog and was forever changed by magic. In 1982, Michael sent waves through the magic community when he competed against magicians from 22 countries and became the second American in the 45-year history of the event to win the Gold Medal at the World Sleight-of-Hand Championship at FISM in Lausanne, Switzerland. Michael has performed the world over, and has been featured on numerous TV specials, including International Magic Awards, The Worlds Greatest Living Magicians, CNN Headline News, and the Worlds Greatest Magic Tricks Ever.

Michael FinneyHe has performed at the Magic Castle in Hollywood, been nominated for magician of the year, received the Silver Lion Head award for excellence in comedy & magic from Sigfried & Roy, and had his first real break in the business as a finalist in a Star Search competition. The past 14 years, Michael has been headlining comedy clubs across the country along with entertaining many corporate clients. He has performed the last two years on NBC’s “World’s Greatest Magicians” and “World’s Wildest Magic” shows.

Piff the Magic DragonPiff was the Magic Circle Stage Magician of the Year 2013-2014. With five record breaking runs at the Edinburgh Fringe and sell-out seasons at Soho Theatre in London’s West End, an appearance on Penn & Teller’s hit show Fool Us led to global awareness for the Godzilla of the magic world. 12 million YouTube hits later and Piff has performed to hundreds of thousands in venues such as Radio City Music Hall, Shakespeare’s Globe, the O2, London, and Sydney Opera House.

Sonny FontanaStarting magic at age 17, he is also the world’s foremost expert in the ancient art of hand shadows. He was selected by Francis Ford Coppola to act as the “Shadow Consultant” for his amazing movie Dracula. He has performed his Shadow Act in 38 countries and has been featured in many showrooms in Las Vegas. His Telephone Magic Act won an award at the F.I.S.M. Convention in Dresden Germany. His latest creative endeavour is bringing the Invisible Man live to the stage. Sonny will perform both his Invisible Man Act and his award winning Shadow Puppet Act.

Doors for the evening show open at about 7:30 p.m. with the show starting at about 8 p.m. Tickets are general admission and available at the door. There will be lemonade and popcorn for sale, all proceeds benefit Michael Finney’s Hope for Warriors charity.
