The 59th Annual Open Juried Art Exhibition presented by Perkiomen Valley Art Center is now on exhibit at the Hill School Center for the Arts, Boyer Gallery from through December 12th. The Hill School is located at Beech and Sheridan Streets in Pottstown. The exhibit is open free of charge to the public. An awards reception will be held on Sunday, Nov. 2 from 2 to 5 p.m.
Cathy Grygiel of Souderton was awarded Best of Show for her pastel “Sunset Road”. Other top award winners are: Bob Hakun of Pottstown – Hill School Award for Excellence; Charles R. Ross of Schwenksville – Harleysville Savings Bank Award for Excellence; Lori Quinque-Quinn, of Perkiomenville – First Place for Oils & Acrylics; Jim McFarlane of Schwenksville – First Place for Watercolors; Sherry Ward of Schwenksville – First Place for Pastels; Julie Macon Hill of Hatfield – First Place for Graphics; and Janice Ward of Norristown, First Place for Sculpture. The Perkiomen Valley Art Center was founded in 1957. This non-profit, all volunteer group strives to promote the fine arts in this region and to encourage local artists through educational programs, art exhibits, awards for excellence in the arts, and awards for area high school art students. All programs and art exhibits are free and membership is open to all.
