The Tel Hai community invites fans of the Broadway stage to a performance by a very talented character singer and actor, John Anker Bow. The concert will be offered on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 7:30 PM in the community’s chapel located off Beaver Dam Road in Honey Brook Township, east of Route 10. Anker Bow, a baritone, will be accompanied on piano by Jeffrey Uhlig.

John Anker Bow graduated from Rider University (NJ) with a bachelor’s degree in English literature and secondary education. Following graduation he became the Director of Educational Outreach at Surflight Theatre where he started a very successful educational touring compnay known as Surflight to-Go. John has recently worked for the Nebraska Theatre Caravan, The Boothbay Opera House in Boothbay Harbor (ME), the Palace Theatre of New Hampshire and the Ocean City Theatre Company (NJ).

Anker Bow is also the author and lyricist of several musical plays for young audiences. He teaches in New Jersey and PA and does voice-over work for Little Fox Productions and is an adjudicator for the Papermill Playhouse Rising Star Awards. His favorite roles include “Smudge” in Forever Plaid, “Cornelius Hackl” in Hello Dolly!, “Lloyd Dallas” in Noises Off!, “Joel” in Beau Jest and “Jacob Marley” in A Christmas Carol.

Jeffrey Uhlig returns as a perennial Tel Hai favorite. His talents as a chamber musician, vocal coach and accompanist have provided opportunities to perform with the Philadelphia Orchestra, New York Philharmonic and the Metropolitan Opera. He holds the Lillian Kraus Felber Distinguished Faculty Chair in Piano at the Settlement Music School (Philadelphia) and serves as principal keyboard with the Ocean City Pops Orchestra (NJ). Mr. Uhlig holds a Master of Music degree from West Chester University.
