Berks Youth Chorus announces its second pops concert, Up and Down the Radio Dial, at 4 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 8, at Schaeffer Auditorium, Kutztown University, in Kutztown.

Music features the best from late night radio jazz sessions to early morning Broadway broadcasts, including “Get Ready/Dancing in the Street,” from Motown: The Musical, by William “Smokey” Robinson; “Light of a Clear Blue Morning,” by Dolly Parton; and “Spoonful of Sugar” from Walt Disney’s Mary Poppins, by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman. The chorus is pulling out all the stops with choreographed performances by more than 100 singers in four ensembles: Training Chorus, Choristers, Chorale, and MasterSingers.

Tickets may be purchased in advance by calling 610-898-7664 or, as available, at the door.

Berks Youth Chorus is a premier choral ensemble, which offers high quality vocal instruction for children and youth who want to learn to sing – or just sing better. For more than twenty years, BYC has given its youth a voice. Singers – from a diverse cross-section of neighborhoods, cultures, religions, and economic strata – come together, make music, and make friendships that last a lifetime.

With its headquarters and rehearsals located in Reading’s geographically accessible GoggleWorks, and through community engagement projects for inner-city children such as Summer Sing, BYC is dedicated to making life-changing musical opportunities accessible to all children. Singers represent school districts, private schools and home schools throughout Berks County.

The concert season is supported by Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency, and Reading Musical Foundation.
