A week after presenting classic French farce, the Historic State Theatre of Boyertown continues a stage tour of Europe with the “Songs of Ireland” concert on March 7.

The show features Killen Clark, The King Brothers, and The Chester County Emerald Society Pipe Band, each bringing their own take on classic Irish music to the stage. The show kicks off at 7 p.m., doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Acoustic duo Killen Clark, comprised of Kim Killen and Gerry Clark, offers up Irish Folk Songs of “life, love, the seas and the sod” featuring guitar, tin whistle, and exceptional vocals. They will also emcee the event. While firmly rooted in the brother style duets of the bluegrass world, the King Brothers bring their tight vocal harmonies to Irish Folk. Instrumentally, we can expect some combination of guitar, five string banjo, mandolin, tenor banjo, and bouzouki. The Chester County Emerald Society Pipe Band is a voluntary group formed almost a decade ago. The bagpipe band is made up of Chester County law enforcement officers and approved civilians. The band often performs in parades and Law Enforcement ceremonies.

The Historic State Theatre has been an integral part of the Boyertown community for more than 100 years. After decades as a movie theater, the State is returning to its roots as a full-time Theatre of the Arts. The Theatre currently offers concerts, comedy, live theater, and more. Located at 61 N. Reading Ave, the theatre will host more than sixty live entertainment events in 2015.
