Make Music Upper Perk, a day-long music celebration held annually in conjunction with International Music Day, will celebrate its third year of music in the Upper Perkiomen Valley on June 21.

Last year’s event gathered nearly 150 musicians to present a festival schedule brimming with local talent. This year’s festival organizers anticipate another wide variety of genres: bluegrass, a capella, rock, folk, classical, sacred and jazz among others. Community members are encouraged to participate in the build-up to June 21 by donating to this year’s Kickstarter campaign, which is running from March 1- 30.

Kickstarter is a way for individuals to pledge online amounts, small and large, to support the continued growth and success of the music festival. MMUP is committed to making the event accessible to the entire public; the venues are churches, small businesses and municipal facilities located around the valley and all performances are free.

For more information about Make Music Upper Perk and how to pledge your support via Kickstarter, visit the Facebook page Make Music Upper Perk, ValleyArtScene.wordpress.com, or Twitter @MakeMusicUP. The event is co-sponsored by ValleyArtScene, FAME: Families Advancing Music Education and Grace Notes Piano Studio. In addition to funds raised by the Kickstarter campaign, Make Music Upper Perk is seeking musicians to perform on June 21 as well as volunteers to help out on the day of the event. Please join us in celebrating the sounds of Upper Perk!
