Clay on Main will be hosting its annual Ice Cream Social and Open House on Saturday, July 18, at the studio at 313 Main Street in the village of Oley from 12 to 3 p.m. The social will have activities for all ages. Demonstrations including the pottery wheel, tile making, and sculpture will be going on throughout the day. There will also be hands-on art activities for all ages in the studio.

Music will be in the Half Moon Cafe throughout the day. The artwork of talented Oley Valley High School students is currently on display in the studio gallery. Volunteers will be giving tours of the building and studio throughout the day. Attendees will have an opportunity to create and take home whimsical miniature fairy or gnome gardens using plants and materials supplied by the studio. Volunteers from the Oley Valley Community Library will present children activities and student artists from the Lehigh Valley Charter Arts High School will be on hand to create caricatures while you wait.

Most of all – there will be ice cream! Studio volunteers will be serving complimentary cones or bowls to all that attend. Handmade ice cream bowls from the studio will be available for purchase for a small donation. Other pottery items will be available for purchase in the Potter’s Pantry gift gallery. The social and open house will also feature information on classes, workshops, upcoming events, and studio membership.
