The Chamber announces its first Comedy Night to be held on Friday, Oct. 2 at the Kutztown Fire Company, 310 Noble Street. Hosted by Comic Steve Borkowski, with headliner Comic Chip Chantry, Laugh Out Loud Comedy Night will also feature performances by Jason Brown and Tyler Rothrock.
This event is open to the public, and $15 advance tickets are on sale now at the Chamber office, 110 West Main Street, Kutztown. Call 610-683-8860 to order by phone. Doors will open at 7 p.m., and tickets will be sold at the door for $20. Light snacks and soft drinks are included with ticket price, and a cash bar will be available to patrons. The Chamber also will conduct a 50/50 raffle for a cash prize.
Steve Borkowski’s first stand-up comedy performance was at a college talent show in 1996. He’s been telling jokes on stage ever since. Host of Stout Laughs, a monthly comedy show at the Bethlehem Brew Works, Steve can also be found performing throughout the Lehigh Valley and beyond. Originally from Pittsburgh, Steve now calls Emmaus home.
Chip Chantry is a Philadelphia-based comedian and writer. He was the winner of the 2013 Philly’s Phunniest Contest at Helium Comedy Club, where he is a regular performer. Chip was also named “Best Standup Comedian” at the 2012 and 2014 annual Philadelphia Comedy Awards. Chip tours nationally, opening for acts such as Dave Chappelle, Bob Saget and Todd Glass.
Lehigh Valley comedian Jason Brown has performed in comedy clubs all over the East Coast, including Philadelphia and New York City. He has been featured on the IFC channel, Comedy Central and The Nerdist Podcast. Jason is a regular at the Allentown Comedy Club and Wisecracker’s, and he produces shows and open mics all over the Leigh Valley. Jason is also a graduate of the Upright Citizens Brigade School of Comedy in NYC, specializing in sketch comedy. Jason’s comedy style, highbrow self-deprecating storytelling, has been described as a combination of Paul F. Tomkins and Louie CK.
Tyler Rothrock is one of the top up-and-coming comics in New York City. He has shared stages with the likes of Emmy nominee Nick DiPaolo (Comedy Central Roasts, Jay Leno, David Letterman, Howard Stern), Judah Friedlander (30 Rock, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Meet The Parents), Ted Alexandro (Oz, Louie, Jay Leno, David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel Live), Jay Black (Showtime, A&E, Fox, NBC), Kyle Kinane (Comedy Central, Conan O’Brien) and more. Tyler was also a featured performer at The Daily Show Comedians Stand-Up Show in New York.
