Farm Country Shindig is proud to present The Kevin Prater Band on Saturday, Dec. 5 at the Fivepointville Fire Hall.
The Kevin Prater Band is a unique band from the hills of Appalachia creating the pure Kentucky sound based on strong vocal harmonies. Built around high trios, the Kevin Prater Band sound comes from a wide range of influences and musical heroes. The original Seldom Scene, The Country Gentlemen, Osborne Brothers, Doyle Lawson and the Stanley Brothers are among the different styles of music they have all admired and studied together throughout the years. Also steeped in the tradition of Gospel music, they pride themselves on the a Capella hymns and great gospel songs that people enjoy. Kevin Prater started his musical journey at the age of four. With the band, he plays guitar, mandolin and does vocals. Danny Stiltner plays bass, Tom Timberlake does guitar and vocals and Tyler Robertson, the youngest member of the band, plays banjo, guitar, mandolin and also does vocals. Appearing this evening with The Kevin Prater Band is Chester Johnson and The Foggy Mountain Grass.
Come on out to the Fivepointville Fire Hall, 1087 Dry Tavern Road (Route 897), Denver and make welcome the Kevin Prater Band before they leave the next week for Florida to appear at the Palatka Bluegrass Festival.
