Mark your calendars! The BAHS music department has begun preparations for the 2016 Spring musical, Disney’s “Mary Poppins.”
First premiering on Broadway in 2006, “Mary Poppins” has been nominated for seven Tony awards, and has had a successful run. The stage show is a combination of the classic Disney movie musical, and the Mary Poppins children’s books by P. L. Travers. Beloved and well known songs such as “Let’s Go Fly a Kite” and “A Spoonful of Sugar” will be joined by new favorites “Practically Perfect” and “A Man Has Dreams.” This will be a family-friendly show that is appropriate for all ages.
Performances will be held on Thursday, Apr. 7; Friday, Apr. 8; and Saturday Apr. 9 at 7 p.m., with a matinee on Sunday, Apr. 10 at 3 p.m. Tickets will be available for purchase prior to the Senior High music department holiday concerts. The Instrumental concert will be held Tuesday, Dec. 8 at 7 p.m., followed by the Choral concert on Wednesday, Dec. 16 at 7 p.m. The ticket table will be located in the auditorium lobby with sales beginning at 6 p.m.
