On Saturday, Dec. 19 the Reading Symphony Orchestra will present its second annual Holiday Extravaganza at the Santander Performing Arts Center at 3 p.m.

Featuring both the Reading Symphony Youth Orchestra (RSYO) and the Reading Symphony Junior String Orchestra (RSJSO), this concert will present many of your favorite holiday classics and will be a fun event for the whole family! The Reading Symphony Youth Orchestra will be joined on stage by the Boyertown Area High School Show Choir under the direction of Jeffrey Brunner. Boyertown Area Senior High School’s Show Choir is excited to bring their energy and passion to stage when joining the RSYO. The Show Choir includes 50 select voices.

Bring your singing voice as the concert ends will a rousing Holiday Sing-Along! Back by popular demand, the RSO will again have an instrument petting zoo where children are invited to get up close and personal with orchestral instruments as RSYO musicians teach them how to play the instruments. The pre-concert activities begin at 2 p.m. and will also feature free snacks for the kids. Also, the RSO has it on good authority that there will be a visit from a special someone from the North! It is rumored that this “Special Guest” will be willing to stay for photographs in the lobby after the concert.
