Join the Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society for a diverse evening of music from a variety of Anabaptist experiences at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6 at Neffsville Mennonite Church. From rich a cappella singing to the striking chords of Hispanic church music and beyond, Annual Music Night has something for everyone.

The complex harmonies of the Kravetz family will fill Neffsville Mennonite Church. This five-member family of multi-instruments will sing a cappella, play as a string ensemble and as a brass quintet.

The Weybright Duo, Clara and Aden Weybright, are a sister-brother duo who enjoy performing together. Veterans of the Chamber Choir of Mennonite Children’s Choir of Lancaster, they hail from Manheim and attend East Chestnut Street Mennonite Church. They will bring their distinctive sound to traditional gospel music.

Ithiel Ministry y Zona de Gloria Band will bring the Latin flair of Lancaster’s Hispanic Mennonite churches to the evening. This four-person band performs Latin American praise music on traditional instruments.

A mixed ensemble composed of members of the Mennonite Heritage Chorale will round out the evening. This favorite group from past Annual Music Nights, led by Harvey Fox, brings masterful a cappella singing in the Mennonite tradition.

There will also be periods of lively congregational singing, led by Merle Good.

“Since its beginning, the Annual Music Night has been an experiment in diverse faith-oriented musical styles to appeal to the largest public audience possible,” said Rolando L. Santiago, executive director of the Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society. “We hope young and old from any church or no-church background will find this year’s concert inspiring.”

Neffsville Mennonite Church is located at 2371 Lititz Pike, Lancaster.

Tickets can be purchased online at lmhs.org or by calling 717-393-9745.

This evening of music is part of the Lancaster Roots 2016 program, which represents joint events organized by the Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society and the 1719 Hans Herr House and Museum.
