On Feb. 28, from 3 to 5 p.m., the public is invited to come out to a special event, Centre Park Flutes in Concert, being held at Immanuel UCC, 99 S. Waverly Street, Shillington, as a part of the Immanuel UCC Gifts of the Arts Series.

Centre Park Flutes in Concert’s flute quartet is composed of Cynthia Miller-Aungst, Donnasue Thompson, Dawn Main and the director, Virginia Schultze-Johnson. They have performed in local churches and for Centre Park events including the Annual Christmas and Garden Tours.

With members performing on a full family of flutes (piccolo, concert flute, alto flute and G and bass flutes), the program includes familiar works from Handel and Bach, as well as works written expressly for the quartet. Members of the ensemble teach instrumental music in schools and through the Reading Music Foundation, and perform with other flute choirs and the Reading Pops Orchestra.

This event does charge admission. For more information, please call Immanuel UCC at 610-777-7107 or visit www.immanuel-ucc.org.
