OnTuesday evening, May 3, the band “Ferdinand the Bull” will perform on stage at the Kutztown Park Band Shell to kickoff the 2016 Borough of Kutztown Concert Series in the Park. The will perform from 7 to 9 p.m. for their second stop on their cross-country tour.

“Ferdinand the Bull” is a four piece band playing Americana bluegrass, folk and various forms of original music. The band was formed by two local 2012 graduates of Kutztown High School, Nick Snyder (guitar and lead singer/songwriter) and Evan Altieri (banjo), while attending the University of Pittsburgh, with the addition of two of their Pitt classmates. The band is headquartered out of Pittsburgh and has released three EPs. They have begun their US tour in promotion of their first full length album, “Days We Forgot”. The month-long tour will take them across the country, beginning in New York City and featuring Kutztown as their second stop as they travel through Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Denver and end in Columbus in early June.

Both Nick and Evan formed a small band in their basements while in high school and upon graduation in 2012 and their relocation to the University of Pittsburgh, met fellow college classmates, Bryce Rabideau (mandolin) and Ross Antonich (percussion). Together, they discovered their mutual love of folk and bluegrass music, and following their freshman year, decided to form the group and together created the band “Ferdinand the Bull.”

The band will delight you with their own unique sounds of folk, Americana and bluegrass, playing a variety from these genres of music, with their own flare. Come out and support two former Kutztown High School alumni and the first Kutztown performance of Ferdinand the Bull.

The concert is free to the public and is part of the Borough of Kutztown “2016 Concert Series in the Park” and will be held rain or shine in the covered Kutztown Park Band Shell.
