READING >> Fecho Productions, in association with the DoubleTree by Hilton in downtown Reading, presents a hysterical and raucous new interactive event, “Bobbi & Bobbee’s Big Fat Gay Wedding” on Friday, May 6. The show is sponsored by Genesius Theatre, Solve It Solutions, Secrets Bakery and Tina’s Salon and Day Spa.

Everyone loves to attend weddings and gay weddings are now all the rage.

This is the perfect scenario of boy meets boy, boy loses boy and boy gets… well… boy in the end! Such a fun gay romp with a bunch of Bobbi & Bobbee’s friends and family who will be on hand to pay their respects to the Groom & the Groom! You are all invited to this most wonderful wedding and most rousing reception of two of our most giddy Gay friends!!!

Bobbi Johnson was “straight” and married to Violet until he met Bobbee Poppen at a networking cocktail party. They became fast friends, then business associates and then lovers, until finally Bobbi had to fess up to Violet that he’s gay and is going to marry Bobbee. Violet is so co-dependent that she pretends she’s okay with it and being an event planner, by trade, helps Bobbi and Bobbee to plan their very special wedding day.

This show has all the components of a perfect wedding. There’s a ceremony with really cheesy vows, and tacky love songs, complete with a way too New Age Celebrant. And, then the guests are whisked away to the reception where the fun really begins with dinner, drinking, dancing and wedding games.

As the evening wears on and the wedding party gets tipsy the truth serum kicks in and the sarcastic barbs begin to fly. There’s the Best Man who thinks he’s straight, but we all know he’s not, who brings a sexy bombshell as his date, but ditches her later on. There’s the ex-boyfriend who’s at the wedding, but is seeking revenge.

There’s the crazy wife/wedding planner who gets plastered. There’s the straight photographer who didn’t know he was hired to shoot a gay wedding and there’s the Pennsylvania Dutch mother of the groom who is still in shock about her son marrying another guy. DJ Journey will be on hand to keep the music pumping and the evening rocking.

The wedding party includes: Drew Boardman as Bobbi Johnson (groom #1), Nick Freer as Bobbee Poppen (groom #2), Julia Elberfeld as Violet Johnson the scorned ex-wife of Bobbi and the wedding planner, Diane Smith as Emma Johnson, the mother of Bobbi, Cal Anthony as Eduardo Velazquez, the jilted ex-partner of Bobbee, Brandon Kergerize as Dan Reamer the very straight wedding photographer, Jeffery Flemming as Lance Parcell the very swishy, but straight “Best Man”, Dara Himes as Lance’s really hot date Sabrina Cummings and Taylor Clark as the way to New Age Celebrant, Abednego.

The show is written, produced and directed by L J Fecho of Fecho Productions who is also the artistic producer of Genesius Theatre. The show’s choreographer is Jericho Joy of Monarch Dance Studio in West Reading and the Dance Director at Genesius Theatre.
