Connections on High, a coffee house in downtown Pottstown, announced April 29 that they will host Open Mic Nights beginning Thursday, May 26 featuring local artist David Charles as their MC. Local musicians, rappers, poets and comedians are invited to join.
Performers can sign up by calling 484-624-3669 or by e-mailing connectionsonhigh@gmail.com. Open Mic Nights will continue to be held the last Thursday of each month at 7 p.m.
One of the goals of Connections on High has always been to see the continued revitalization of Pottstown.
“We want Pottstown to be a destination, and we hope this will be one more reason people will want to come downtown,” said Josh Detweiler, the manager of Connections on High. “We know there are many talented artists in Pottstown and the surrounding area, and we want to create an atmosphere where they can shine.”
Artists of all talents are welcome. Sign-ups will be at 6:30 p.m. A keyboard, wireless microphone and guitar hookups will be provided for performers. Open Mics will run from 7 to approximately 9:30 p.m.
Connections on High is located in the historic New York Plaza Building in downtown Pottstown. The establishment offers espresso drinks, coffee, smoothies and Italian cream sodas, as well as breakfast and lunch. They also offer space rental for parties, showers, business meetings and more.
