The St. John Center Lutheran Church “Music in the Grove” welcomes Summit Hill Bluegrass on Sunday evening, June 19 at 6 p.m. Summit Hill Bluegrass is a group of multi-talented experienced bluegrass musicians/singers. Each band member has an average of more than 20 years working with various bluegrass bands. BlueGRACE, the scheduled band for this evening, will not be with us. We will look forward to having them with us next summer.
Roger Eberlin (from West Grove) sings lead and plays the uprite bass. He also sings baritone and tenor. Ron McVey (from Strasburg) plays old time bluegrass fiddle and sings some lead following in the footsteps of his late grandfather. Ron loves to entertain and make people laugh and forget their troubles. Tim Kilby (from Quarryville) sings baritone and plays guitar. He also plays dobro and bass fiddle. Tim appeared with High Ridge Mountain Boys, Stone Mountain Bluegrass, Joyful Strings and currently plays with the bluegrass Praise Band BlueGRACE. Keith Kupp (from Adamstown) sings tenor and plays banjo.
Summit Hill Bluegrass performs a wide variety of bluegrass style music from traditional to gospel and country ballad – all done with tight harmonies and solid bluegrass.
Come and help make welcome Summit Hill Bluegrass. The program will be outdoors, so bring lawn chairs. In case of rain, the program will be indoors. Sandwiches, snacks and drinks will be available to benefit the youth. An offering will be received. Come on out, relax and join us for an evening of great bluegrass. The church and grove are located a few miles south of Bowmansville, along Route 625 at 599 Reading Road, East Earl.
