Honey Brook Borough Park Free Concert in the Park series will continue on Sunday, Aug. 7, with a performance by the seven piece high energy Celtic band Down by the Glenside. The band will perform from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

Down by the Glenside consists of Brian Fink on fiddle and vocals, Richie Maggs on banjo and vocals, Marilyn Moedinger on tin whistle and vocals, Joe Pascuzzi on mandolin and bouzouki, Tom Webster on guitar and lead vocals, Rob Riley on bodhran and Brendan Zeigler on lead vocals and tin whistle.

The ban began as a group of friends informally playing together at parties or around campfires at Civil War reenactments. They humbly pay homage to the generations of Irish that contributed to building this and many other great nations in the spirit of the Clancy Brothers, Tommy Maken, Luke Kelly and the Wolf Tones. Down by the Glenside shares the traditional music of Ireland, exquisitely combining the sounds of the fiddle, guitar, banjo, bouzouki, mandolin, tin whistle and bodhran with beautiful vocal harmonies.

Concert goers are welcome to bring chairs, blankets and picnics and enjoy this wonderful music in a beautiful outdoor setting.

The Honey Brook Lions Club will have food and beverages available for purchase. We will be collecting non-perishable food items for the Honey Brook Food Pantry at the concert.

In the case of the threat of inclement weather the concert will be cancelled and rescheduled. A recorded message will be placed on the Honey Brook Borough office phone line, 610-273-2020 by 1 p.m. the day of the show.
