Bounty of good times

Mennonite Heritage Center: The 43rd annual Apple Butter Frolic on Oct. 1 begins with a pancake and apple sausage breakfast 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. The Frolic runs 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., with apple and Pennsylvania German foods, folk crafts, farming demonstrations, children’s activities, horse and wagon rides and a baking contest. Keystone Fellowship Skippack: A carnival is held 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 8 on the church grounds, 2024 Cressman Road, Skippack. North Wales Community Day: Check out the fun 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 1 in Weingartner Park, Second and Summit streets, North Wales. Activities include touch-a-truck, inflatable amusements, refreshments, music and a bike safety rodeo. There will also be vendors on Second and Church streets. Also, St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Second and Church streets, hosts Oktoberfest from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 1. Highlights include German food, music, beer, wine, raffles and a silent auction of a variety of baskets.

Arasapha Farms: The farm at 1835 Middletown Road, Glen Mills, offers Harvest Hayride festivities 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through Oct. 30. SteelStacks: The sixth annual Oktoberfest at SteelStacks is set for Sept. 30-Oct. 2 and Oct. 7-9. Enjoy German food and beer, live entertainment, dachshund races, the Great Lakes Timber Show and more. Because David Hasselhoff is such a beloved celebrity in Germany, there’ll be a Hasselhoff-Off competition at 8 p.m. Oct. 7. Adults 18+ can show off their Hoff-like good looks in a costume and impersonation contest, a simulated “Baywatch” beach rescue, a “Knight Rider” car-conversation challenge and karaoke songs to be performed in German. St. Eleanor Roman Catholic Church: The church at 647 Locust St., Collegeville, will host its first Amazing Harvest Festival from 1:30 to 5 p.m. Oct. 2. Enjoy food, games, contests and music and entertainment. Other highlights include a “dress like your stuffed animal” children’s parade, a children’s bounce house, a police dog demo and adoptable dogs from the Montgomery County SPCA. University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology: In honor of “The Golden Age of King Midas” exhibition, a Turkish Film Festival offers a look at the culture scene in Turkey Sept. 30-Oct. 9.
