The 15th Annual Juried Spring Fine Arts and Crafts Festival and Sale will be held by the Reading-Berks Guild of Craftsmen, one of the largest craft guilds in Pennsylvania, on Saturday, April 1 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, April 2, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Kutztown University’s O’Pake Fieldhouse at the corner of Trexler Avenue and Baldy Street in Kutztown.
More than 80 juried craftsmen and fine artists (juried members of Reading-Berks Guild and/or Pennsylvania Guild and invited artists) will be displaying their creations in store-front booths. For sale will be ceramics from traditional redware to modern decorative pottery; a wide variety of jewelry including glass beads, wire wrapping, gold and silver jewelry; wood turnings; hooked and penny rugs; calligraphy; basketry; art quilting; wearable art; photography; fine art; paper art such as paper cuttings and paper flowers; folk art: theorems, tinsmithing, and block printing; furniture and the list goes on and on.
A student gallery, featuring art students from the area colleges, live music by “The Acoustic Road Show”; a food cafe; hourly door prizes and a “special something” for the first 50 patrons each day round out this very special event.
The festival is presented in partnership with The Pennsylvania Cultural Heritage Center and Kutztown University. There is parking and is handicapped accessible. Admission is $6 by donation. Children 12 and under are free. Proceeds benefit the educational programs of the Reading-Berks Guild of Craftsmen.
