Shrek and the Troll visited the Philadelphia Street Fair on Saturday, June 10, as the guests of the State Theatre and St. John’s Lutheran Church. Shrek and the Troll visited Boyertown to promote the six summer matinees for the State Theatre program of Kids Summer Movies. Starting at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 21 and Thursday, June 22 and continuing for six Wednesdays and six Thursdays, the matinees will be held for Kids at a ticket cost of $1. A kids snack pack of fruit juice, popcorn and candy will be available for $3.

All children 12 and under must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Shannon Anthony, State Theatre manager said, “The response to the program has been strong and the seating will be limited to 200 with the doors opening at 9:30.”

The State opened a two week run of the Disney movie, CARS 3, on Friday. As part of the opening promotion, they had two racing cars and their drivers on the pavement next to the Theatre. CARS 3 runs until Thursday, June 30.
