The Honey Brook Food Pantry is hosting an evening of music on Saturday, Aug. 26, from 4:30 to 10 p.m. at the Honeybrook Golf Club and Greenside Grill, 1422 Cambridge Road, Honey Brook, in beautiful Chester County.

“This year’s key theme is to join the community in support of the food needs of nearly 800 people in our community,” said Kenneth R. Ross, Honey Brook Food Pantry Board Chairman. “Our retail donations are lagging and our summer food needs were significant. We have 75 new families and we are growing.”

Ross said that with the recent reductions in retail support, he encourages donations that will assist with the purchase of larger quantities of more nutritious food now more than ever before.

“Summer is the time when donations are down and with so many kids to feed…. demand is up,” said Ross. “Many of the clients have serious disabilities and many are elderly, driving a dramatic increase in the need for home deliveries, now nearly 30 per month. It is also important to note that 48 percent of the households served by the pantry are families with children and YTD 2017, we served the most ever families larger than five members….258….21 percent more than last year’s comparable period.”

The public is invited to bring their own lawn chairs and settle in for an evening of entertainment.

“Come out and support your local food pantry while you enjoy an evening of music, food and fun with your family and friends and meet your neighbors,” said Ross.

This year’s featured opening act is The Floats performing new and Classic Rock starting at 4:45 p.m. They are a Chester County power-trio and cousin with a huge fan following.

A Music Fest favorite Sam Schmidthuber, Morgantown’s Nashville Recording Artist, will be bringing his County music to the stage at 5:30 p.m. His smooth ballads and toe-tapping songs are always a hit with the crowd.

At 6:30 p.m. the Rosewood Trio takes the stage. Sandy, Chip, and Dave on acoustic guitar play an eclectic mix of Folk, Rock and Blues. Sing along, clap your hands and dance with this popular Chester County group.

From 8 p.m. and into the night, enjoy The Larry Roney Band playing Rock and Roll and the music you grew up with, such as James Taylor, Simon and Garfunkel, Neil Young and more. Come out and hear the familiar sound of the Philly Suburbs.

These artists all have big followings and the food pantry is happy to bring you an evening in the countryside with music you love.

For a $20 donation to the Food Pantry attendees have access to the stage area on the greens, a picnic burger or dog with all the fixings and a beverage. There is also a backstage cash bar. The Greenside Grill will be open with full dinner menu and pub service. Those porch side tables fill up fast.

Ticket sales are moving. Advance ticket sales are encouraged through the Honeybrook Golf Club and Greenside Grill and will be available on-site the day of the event as available.
