The Talisman Players present their first children’s production, “Pinnochio,” at Trinity Lutheran Church in Kutztown on Feb. 9 at 6:30 p.m., Feb. 10 at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., Feb. 11 at 3 p.m., and Feb. 17 at 3 p.m.

A Brunch and a Show of “Pinnochio” will be presented at Kutztown University in the Georgian Room at Old Main on Feb. 18 at 11:30 a.m. There will be a full brunch offered for adults and children with the show immediately following.

“The Talisman Players, having sold out the run of ‘George Washington Slept Here’ last March and having hundreds see ‘How to Succeed’ over the summer, hope to continue the upward trend by producing their first children’s show in Kutztown, the classic ‘Pinocchio’ directed by Tom Nardone,” writes the Talisman Players in an event release.

“Anchored by Kutztown High School student Crede Cooper as Pinocchio, the wooden boy with a golden heart, many familiar faces return to the stage including numerous Kutztown Area School District students, past and present, including Crede’s brother Asher, Porter Holt, Megan Laudenslager, Brock Rabenold, Vicky Diehl, Matt Luppackino and newcomer Carson Lutz, among others. Kutztown University Professor Greg Setliff moves from his role as a Talisman dad to portray the lovable Gepetto joining a cast of more than 25 children and adults.”

Christine Nardone Storch and Gretchen Boyer serve as Musical Directors.

“Talisman solidified its mission to bring quality, family friendly, affordable theatre to Kutztown over the last few years and hope to expand that even further by offering a brunch buffet and show at Kutztown University while keeping affordability in mind,” says the Talisman Players. “Don’t miss this opportunity to bring the family out for an afternoon of raucous laughs sure to please children and adults alike!”

According to their website, https://talismanplayers.com/, the Talisman Players of Kutztown originates from The Talisman Players of Staten Island, New York, a community theatre group for over 30 years founded and directed by Tom Nardone, an educator and consultant. His daughter, Christine Nardone Storch, graduate and faculty member of the Wagner College was his Musical Director. Eventually, Christine took over as Director and formed her own theatre company The Jr. Talisman Players and in Kutztown she also owns and operates Christine’s Music Together. Christine and her family moved to the Lehigh Valley area in 2012, soon followed by Tom and his wife Carol in 2013. Shortly after, the Talisman Players of Kutztown was created to present community theater productions in Kutztown.
