It was a news article in the Boyertown Times on Feb. 8, written by Lisa Mitchell of the Kutztown Patriot, that the Talisman Players were performing the children’s production of “Pinnochio” in Kutztown that led State Theatre president, Charles Haddad to ask himself, “Why Not In Boyertown at the State Theatre”?

So it was with a cold call to the Talisman Director and Producer, Christine Nardone, that arrangements were quickly and enthusiastically made to have the Talisman Players, with a cast of 25 children and adult from Kutztown area, perform Pinnochio at the State Theatre on March 3 at 11 a.m.

Haddad, wanting to make the initial performance of the Talisman Players more than just a one hour play, quickly received the support of his Pastor, Bob Machamer, of St. John’s Lutheran Church, for St. John’s to be the show sponsor for reduced ticket prices for children and a brunch after the show to meet the cast.

Tickets may be purchased online at www.boyertownstatetheatre.com or at the State Theatre Box office the day of performance.
