“Artrageous,” a one-of-a-kind interactive art and music experience, will be staged at Upper Darby Performing Art Center on March 22 at 7:30 p.m. A team of artists paints at electric speed and creates giant works of art accompanied by live music, powerful vocals and creative choreography. “Artrageous” is a unique visual journey of wild inspiration, creativity and family fun.
Tickets for “Artrageous” are $26-$35 with a special rate of $12 for students up to age 18. UDPAC members save $2 off each ticket. To purchase tickets and for more information, the public is invited to visit www.udpac.org or call the box office at 610.622.1189. Upper Darby Performing Arts Center is located at 601 N. Lansdowne Avenue in Drexel Hill, PA. Parking is free.
Part rock concert, laser light show, performance art, and inter-active experience, “Artrageous” provides an exciting evening of family entertainment. Everyone in the audience is invited to sing, dance, and clap along. The artist troupe will distribute souvenirs for each audience member to use to participate in the performance and guess along, as famous Icons are painted live. At one point in the performance, audience members can join the troupe on stage to express their creative dance moves and participate in the live performance art installation that was created throughout the show. Audiences engage by adding their own artwork to a blank canvas and leave with a sense of community.
The group pays tribute to a variety of art forms, pop icons and musical genres – from Lennon to Elvis, Hendrix to Journey – culminating in a gallery of gigantic finished paintings.
The Upper Darby Performing Arts Center and Upper Darby Summer Stage are jointly sponsored by the Upper Darby School District Board of School Directors and Upper Darby Township Mayor and Council through the Department of Recreation and Leisure Services.
