Join us on Thursday, June 21, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. to celebrate the longest day of the year with a variety of activities for the whole family!
The evening’s activities will feature “Grandpop Bubbles” who will bring all his gear so kids and kids at heart can make the biggest bubbles of their lives! An evening “Yoga Hike” led by “Porcupine Pat” McKinney of the Schuylkill Conservation District, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., will help you unwind, relax and manage your stress while walking the Union Canal Towpath trail.
Two interpretive walks to the Deppen Cemetery will be led by Parks volunteer Gary Shugar at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The story of the cemetery and its connection to the Irish immigrants who built the Union Canal will be shared.
Then “Drew and the Blue” will entertain us with the sounds of blues, rock and oldies during the evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Throughout the evening there will be craft stations and light refreshments offered. Donations are requested to cover the costs of the activities and supplies. The Snack Bar will be open for hot dogs and ice cream. Please wear comfortable clothes. For more information, call 610-374-8839.
