Berks-Lehigh RegionalPolice

On Feb. 28, officers from the patrol division of the Berks-Lehigh Regional Police Department were dispatched to 28 S. Kemp St., Kutztown (Maxatawny Township), Berks County. On location, officers discovered that a verbal argument had occurred among family members living at the location. As a result of this disturbance, one male was stabbed and taken to the hospital via helicopter, The suspect in this case, Terry Lee Williams, 54, of 28 S. Kemp Street, has been charged with Attempted Murder of the First Degree, two counts of Aggravated Assault, Terroristic Threats, Possessing Instruments of Crime, Simple Assault, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, and Harassment. The victim, a 72-year-old male who has been identified as the father of the assailant, was stabbed numerous times with two broken glass rods, which had been attached to a glass basket. Williams was arraigned by Judge Gail Greth on Feb. 29. Bail was set at $500,000.

Police arrested Sarah E. Grundman, 20, N Plainfield, NJ, for DUI in the 100 block of W. Main St.

Police cited Elizabeth A. Canderan, 19, Ocean View, NJ, for underage drinking.

Police arrested Corey D. Wasylyk, 19, Honesdale, PA, for DUI in the 00 block of W. Main St.

Police cited Daniel J. Goldstein, 20, Scranton, PA, for a violation of the Borough noise ordinance at 129 W. Main St. A Disruptive Conduct Report was also issued.

02/23/08 Police cited Patrick J. Eckhart, 22, Highland Lakes, NJ, for a violation of the Borough noise ordinance at 523 Briar Circle S. A Disruptive Conduct Report was also issued. 02/24/08 Police arrested Anthony

Snead, 21, Philadelphia, PA, for DUI in the 200 block of Sander Alley.

Police cited Elizabeth A. Kessler, 22, Harrisburg, PA, for a violation of the Borough noise ordinance at 45 E. Normal Ave. A Disruptive Conduct Report was also issued.

02/25/08 Police investigated the report of graffiti vandalism at the Kutztown Ice Company, 60 Bieber Alley. 02/26/08 Police are investigating the report of a theft occurring at the Kutztown Area Middle School, 10 Deisher Lane.

Fleetwood Borough

Feb. 24 ‘ March 1, the Fleetwood Borough Police Department responded to 120 service calls, 11 traffic and parking citations, six accidents and five alarms.

On Feb. 26, the department responded to a report of theft and fraud from a business in the 00 block of Buttonwood Street. Investigation of a former employee allegedly involved continues. Also, criminal mischief to the Boro of Fleetwood water shed. Unknown subjects on ATV’s driving on private property, causing damage to roadway and tarp.

On Feb. 28, a 15-year-old male was arrested for having tobacco products on school property.

On March 1, police responded to theft of an extension ladder from the 00 block of E. Pin Street. Ladder was removed from residence.

Pa. State Police

Berks County On Feb. 22, a crash occurred in Greenwich Township when a vehicle operated by Ashley N. Fava, 21, Babylon, NY, was traveling west on Interstate 78 in the left lane. Fava lost control of the vehicle on snow and slush covered roadway and her vehicle slid off the north side of the road, striking an embankment.

After impact, the vehicle was pulled to the north berm facing west. Fava was cited with driving vehicle at a safe speed.
