On Aug. 1, CrossFit Fidelity will be opening its doors to the public to celebrate its second anniversary.
The gym, located on East Philadelphia Avenue in Boyertown, offers CrossFit classes that are designed to teach students the skills and techniques necessary for lifelong changes.
“We can adjust parts of the workouts, like weights and resistance. We can make it work for anybody. We just want people to learn the proper form and technique, and the beauty of CrossFit,” says Dan Covlesky, coach and co-owner of the gym. “We really want to make a difference in the community and in people’s lives.”
The gym’s WOD (workout of the day) classes are great because they focus on skill work, WOD, and mobility. The classes are typically small, so each member can receive personalized guidance of a CrossFit level one trainer. In CrossFit, technique is vital for safety, and will maximize power output during a workout.
For its second anniversary, CrossFit Fidelity will be hosting a “31 Heroes WOD” at 8 a.m., which is open to anyone who is interested. This class will honor the 31 elite military service members who were killed on August 6th, 2011, when an Extortion 17 helicopter was downed in Afghanistan. “As a veteran, the military is very near and dear to my heart,” says Covlesky. “Our members are great, some of them do CrossFit not just for themselves, but in honor of military members.”
The 31 Heroes WOD has been hosted at more than 430 gyms across the country since the tragedy in 2011. It is a mission that our honors our fallen heroes and their loves ones.
