The Chester County Commissioners and the Chester County Economic Development Council are joining together to conduct a survey in connection with a major Chester County Workforce Summit taking place in October.

The summit is part of the VISTA 2025 initiative and will take place on Oct. 14 at Penn State Great Valley. The all-day event will bring together employers and educators to focus on critical workforce issues impacting Chester County.

The survey is being conducted to gather information on the challenges and opportunities facing Chester County businesses as they recruit, train and maintain the skills of their workforce. It will be used to ensure that the Workforce Summit identifies and develops concrete strategies to address critical issues related to the County’s current and future workforce. According to Gary Smith, President & CEO of the CCEDC, “Workforce development is economic development and absolutely critical to the economic health of our county.”

Members of the Chester County business community are encouraged to go to ccedcpa.com to take the survey. Deadline to submit survey information is Sept. 4.

VISTA 2025 is a Chester County public-private partnership effort that is focused on creating and implementing an economic development strategy for the county. Its fundamental premise is that progress and preservation are complementary elements of a strategy that will support economic health while maintaining the sense of place that makes Chester County so attractive to residents and businesses.
