Saucony Creek Brewing Co. claimed a gold medal at the 2015 Great American Beer Festival (GABF) competition for its xReserve Ale 05-15: Peach & Ginger Saison.
Presented by the Brewers Association, GABF is the largest national beer competition that recognizes the most outstanding beers produced in the United States. The top three winners in the competition’s 92 beer categories were announced in September at the Great American Beer Festival awards ceremony held at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, Colorado.
“The thrill of winning a medal for dedicated and passionate work will never get old. After competing for 17 years for medals on the Vert Ramp and Superpipe, to taking a love for home brewing and turning it into Saucony Creek Brewery, I could not have done any of it without my amazing family and the awesome team of people around me. The entire team at Saucony Creek deserve this award,” said Matt Lindenmuth, Founder & Owner at Saucony Creek Brewing Co.
Saucony Creek Brewing Co. was recognized in the Belgian-Style Fruit beerstyle category for its xReserve 05-15: Peach & Ginger Saison, a Belgian-Style farmhouse ale. The Peach & Ginger Saison is a warm and sunny orange in color. It is an easy drinking, slightly tart and fruity saison.
Additions of local peaches and fresh ginger create a well balanced and refreshing brew. Saucony Creek Brewing Co. is a 4,500-barrel microbrewery & gastropub located in Kutztown that specializes in fine beers & artisan foods crafted fresh with the highest quality care to ingredient selection and process. Tentative opening date of the Gastropub is the first week of November.
“We strive to keep everything we create as unique as our life experiences and our recipes adventurous.”
The 2015 GABF competition winners were selected by an international panel of 242 expert judges from the record number of 6,647 entries, plus 91 Pro-Am entries, received from 1,552 U.S. breweries.
“American brewers continue to create innovative, flavorful high quality beers. That was on full display at this year’s Great American Beer Festival,” said Chris Swersey, competition manager, Great American Beer Festival. “The Great American Beer Festival continues to showcase the best this country’s brewers have to offer, with the competition growing and becoming ever more competitive. Congratulations to all participants and especially this year’s winners.”
