A magical combination – the great gifts of Girl Scouting and the blessings of Christmas! Santa made a surprise visit to Fleetwood Girl Scout Daisy Troop 1793 recently. After greeting everyone, he read ”Twas the Night before Christmas’ to them.

The girls in the troop were all asked to write a letter at home and bring it to Santa, asking him to bring something this year for someone else. For example, some girls asked for something for their sibling. Some asked for lost dogs to find homes. One asked for a new pair of glasses for their mom. They were all selfless things for other people.

Each girl had an opportunity to sit with Santa while he read their letter aloud. He was quite touched and was sure to thank them for thinking of others at Christmas. He kept their letters.

He was very excited to answer all of their questions about the North Pole, the elves and his sleigh. They asked about Mrs. Claus too… he said she was quite busy baking cookies. This jolly Santa was impossible to stump! Santa stayed to enjoy a snack with the girls and they all sang some Christmas songs as well.

Troop Leader, Krustin Santangelo of Blandon put her heart and soul into making a troop experience that these girls and their families will always treasure. Nothing grows the Christmas spirit as much as teaching children to find the magic in thinking of others. It was truly a heartwarming night.
